Greetings from Spring Break! From where I stand now, March seems like the absolutely lovely month I know it to truly be (#birthmonthbestmonth). But looking back, the start of the month saw me facing long and stressful days. I ended up skimping on cardio and strength training, reading little more than the allotted 15 mins per … Continue reading March: Yoga, Rainbow Valley, and the Pied Piper
Hip hip hooray! The best month of the year is officially underway! I may be a bit biased as a March baby... and it helps that I grew up in Southern California. When I moved to places that actually have winter, I was shocked (and slightly offended) to hear that others did not have such … Continue reading March Reset
I did it!! I achieved 100% completion of my January lunalution! Which is to say, I completed the 30 day "Dedicate" yoga journey in 30 days. I'm not sure if/when I'll ever achieve this kind of success again, so I'm going to relish it for a moment.
Halfway through January, and I've managed to not mess up writing the date for a few days now. It was rough at first. Not only did I have the characteristic thing of writing an 18 and then trying to turn the 8 into a 9 (does not work so well), but I'd also go to … Continue reading Halfway through “Dedicate”
Today's "wild and fun" adventure is to embark on a brand new set of lunalutions. What is a lunalution, you ask? A lunalution is a resolution on a monthly scale. Last January I decided to set myself 12 lunalutions-- a challenge for every month of the year. Turns out, I quite like living through lunalutions, and so this year I'm taking on a new slate of monthly challenges.
Oh boy. It feels like I've been on a long and somewhat bumpy slide since my last post, and suddenly it's December 1st! Much of it was spent writing fellowship applications, reading lots of philosophy, submitting my first ever paper to a journal, and submitting my second ever paper to another journal. Plus: the culmination … Continue reading December Already?
Lots of things have happened since the last post. A trip to Boston, a trip to Niagara Falls, a two-hour stay under the Hudson, a plunge into the new academic year, a discovery that I don't have secured funding for next year, and a trip to Ithaca. I just got off of the bus from … Continue reading September
I ended my last post with a great deal of apprehension, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how easy it’s been to stick to my no-added-sugar lunalution. I've found that knowing that I am definitely not going to eat that cookie (or that candy… or that ice cream…) has made it such that I don’t … Continue reading August (and July) Updates
These are adapted from Budget Byte's version. These are definitely not too sweet, and you might want to play around with the level of moisture by reducing the amount of milk, but I've found these oats to be simple and satisfying. I do recommend adding the raisins if you want a bit more sweetness! Night … Continue reading Sugar-Free Apple Pie Overnight Oats
